About Our College
Indira Gandhi College of Arts and Science was established in 2001 under the Society for Higher Education in Puducherry. It began with just 33 students across four undergraduate programs. Over the years, the institution has grown significantly and is known for providing quality education in fields such as Information Technology and Biotechnology.
Our Mission
To foster academic excellence and develop socially responsible individuals by offering value-based education in arts and sciences. The college strives to empower students with the knowledge and skills needed to contribute meaningfully to society.
Infrastructure
The college is recognized under section 2(f) of the UGC Act. It currently functions from a centrally located government school campus in Puducherry and has been allocated land for new buildings. The infrastructure includes well-equipped laboratories, a library, multipurpose hall, and separate restrooms for male and female students. Maintenance is managed by the Government of Puducherry through the PWD and dedicated staff.
